Pointer

Overview

The Pointer, also known as the English Pointer, is a dog bred for hunting. The Pointer breed has been bred for hundreds of years to simply "point" their nose at birds and rabbits. The Pointer is a great family dog given they excel in areas like agility, obedience and are fun-loving. The breed is great a choice for homes that are active. English Pointers will become restless and bored when confined too much and may resort to destructive behavior like chewing and barking. Due to the Pointer's high energy, a short walk around the block will likely not be enough to expel the Pointer's energy.
